Why TSM Silicon Valley?

  • What motivates you to join TSM? ???

We only hear about startups that have made it big after they become famous. I've always been curious about the processes and challenges involved, and want to experience firsthand what goes on at ground 0 in Silicon Valley.

  • Why pick Silicon Valley? ???

It's a hotbed for innovation and tech entrepreneurship and I'll definitely gain valuable exposure and insight into their local startup culture!

  • Ideal role in the trip: Refer to Role

I would love to join the companies team, to liaise with startups, startups, incubators, and foreign Universities! I have had experience with corporate communications which will definitely come in handy!

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you? ???

There's a lot of hype nowadays about disruptive tech startups which are easily scalable. I'm intrigued by those, of course, but also by sustainable businesses which remain lean by targeting niche audiences.

  • What plan do you have in starting a business? ???

I'm not gonna lie and pretend I have a grand plan. I have started small businesses in the past but they were neither sustainable and scalable in the long run. I think these things take time, inspiration, knowledge and exposure, all of which I'll be looking to gain on the trip!

Past Experiences (optional)

I was this year's Economics Freshman Camp Chairman, so I have extensive experience in liaising with external companies as well as organizing and planning events! Separately, during NS, my friend and I used to scalp concert tickets and sell sneakers, which was rather lucrative in the short run!

What keeps you ticking?

??? I wanna do something challenging, exciting, and profitable for a living. I haven't found it yet, but the search keeps me going!
