Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
I believe that startups are where revolutionary ideas are created and executed, due to their innovation and ability to adapt to a fast-changing world where new problems surface daily. Based on raving reviews from seniors and friends who have participated in TSM in previous years, this would be a valuable and rare opportunity to better understand the process of growing a business through conversations with people who have founded or are working in these startups (which is very different from reading books and articles). Hopefully, I would gain some insight that will come in handy when starting my own business in the future.
- Where would you like to visit?
I would love to visit South Korea and Japan where great ideas have been born, especially in the past couple of years!
- What keeps you ticking?
Following my curiosity! I strongly believe that staying curious is the best way to keep learning and growing 😊
Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
I am interested in businesses that focus on improving user experiences as we know it. Most recently, fintech payment solutions have piqued my interest. One example would be Apple Card, a credit card that is linked to Apple Pay and built right into the Wallet app. They instant cashbacks and a streamlined payment process (you just need the one card for everything!), which elevates the user experience by making payments an enjoyable process. I believe there are many other daily activities with user experiences that we can improve on, and I hope to work on one of them in the future.
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
I currently do not have any concrete plans or timeline to start a business as I am hoping to polish my technical and other skills before doing so. But in the meantime, I keep myself up to date with the latest developments in the tech scene and any major pain points faced in daily life. When the opportunity arises and an exciting idea strikes me, I would be more than ready to explore it!
