The term "Google" is a creative spelling of googol, the large number 10^100; that is, the digit 1 followed by 100 zeroes. Its use reflects Larry and Sergey's mission to organize a seemingly infinite amount of information on the web. PageRank is the way the Google search Algorithm works. The results are displayed by how many links to that page they are on the web.
Google's business model. Google's main revenue stream is from the advertisements; AdSense and AdWords. The Google AdWords program enables you to create advertisements which will appear on relevant Google search results pages and our network of partner sites. The Google AdSense program differs in that it delivers Google AdWords ads to individuals' websites. Google then pays web publishers for the ads displayed on their site based on user clicks on ads or on ad impressions, depending on the type of ad.
We were assigned with Apple and Ideo at first, but Apple does not allow for visits to its office and the contact people from IDEO did not get back to us. Hence, we were assigned with Google, which was confirmed by Team 2.
We cannot wait to go to Google, and possibly find out a little more about Google X while learning plenty of other things!
