Why TSM Silicon Valley?
Being a very big fan of Animation, 3D-Rendering and Visual design , companies like Adobe, Pixar and Electronic Arts really gets me off the chair (literally!). I am always intrigued by how computer software helps to bring design and arts to a whole new level. I was so into 3D-design but since I was from the A-level track, I took a 3 months course in 3D-MAX before coming into SMU. Therefore, to know that PIXAR is also a AutoDesk Consumer makes me even more excited to see how Animation Companies like PIXAR to be so successful. I really hope to venture into the designing aspect of software in future, and this opportunity would really give me a huge exposure to it.
Internship Opportunities
I am very keen into the 3D-Rendering/Animation opportunities. Having been as intern in an Interior Designing Company motivated me to seek more exposure in the area of computer-aided design. In addition to being an Information System student, I do see an opportunities for information technologies and design to integrate together to create more innovative and creative products.
Although this is not a company based in Silicon Valley, I just have to put it here, because it's one my most respected company that dwell into architecture/animation software. Till today, it amazes me on how our 3D-design can be made realistic with their softwares.
This animation company is the hero behind all our wonderful and realistic animated movies. How is there anything not to like about this company? I would crave badly for such opportunity in having an internship with Pixar!
Adobe's desktop software like Photoshop and Affect Effects are just the few of the many amazing designing software they have. I am always intrigued by how adobe like autodesk can help many companies to design and motivate more graphic designers to create unique and very creative designs. Therefore, such an internship in Adobe would help me gain a better insights to the designing aspect of IT.
Starting a Business

I am hoping to have the opportunity to find ways to create visual design integrated with IT. Like how the computational architects at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology's architecture department uses algorithms to create complex geometry designs and printed using 3D-printers, I believe that these are only the few of the many that design and IT can integrate together. Breaking the stereotypical thinking that IT and Arts are two unrelated subjects and introducing more of these in Singapore itself, creating a new generation of programmers and artists in Singapore!
