Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
TSM will allow me to have a good overview of the various components involved in a typical start-up ecosystem and the roles that each organization play.
Start-up ecosystems in similar environments but located in different parts of the world can end up doing things differently simply because they have a different entrepreneurial culture and resources pool. Through the TSM program, I am looking forward to a fruitful interaction with people of diverse skillsets and expertise. After all, interactions play a key role in the movement of resources through the ecosystem, helping to create new potential start-ups or strengthening the already existing ones and hence influencing the quantity of start-ups built. I believe that TSM would be an eye-opening experience for me to learn more about the local startup ecosystem and culture, and take away valuable skills from the companies which could help me in starting my own business.
Fun Fact: I self-learnt Korean several years ago as I was an avid fan of Running Man and K-dramas! I am able to understand and interpret basic Korean 😊

Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
I am interested in the e-commerce industry and how companies are leveraging technology to deliver a better customer experience. Having done an internship in an e-commerce company, I had the first-hand experience of working in a fast-paced environment, learning from experienced individuals in the field, which made me realise the importance of e-commerce in this digital age.
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
Currently, I do not have plans to start a business while in university. I would like to learn more about the technopreneurship landscape and gain the relevant skills and experience first before embarking on this journey. However, I am always open to new opportunities and if there is one, I would definitely want to give it a shot!
