Why Virtual TSM?
What motivates you to join TSM?
I have always been curious about understanding the mechanics of starting a business and constantly keeping abreast with the market to remain competitive in the industry. TSM provides a nice blend of theory, application and even exposure to directly interact with the companies themselves to gain a better insight into the entrepreneurship scene. Seoul hosts a variety of start-ups that have thrived over the years, and I am excited to learn about their journey to success. I am also intrigued to learn about the differences in start-up culture between Seoul and Singapore and explore the entrepreneurship scene outside of Singapore.
Where would you like to visit?
Seoul Startup Hub, Samsung Town, Dcamp, Nodeul Island
Starting a business
What types of business interest you?
I am interested in businesses that revolve around technology and finance, especially in the areas of financial literacy. I regularly volunteer my time to teach young adults essential personal finance knowledge and skills to give them a firm foundation in managing their money. Additionally, I also volunteer at a NGO which focuses on teaching underprivileged children important technology skills such as Python and Web Development. Initiatives that empower the underprivileged highly resonate with me and I believe that there is immense potential to integrate technology into educating the community.
What plans do you have in starting a business?
In the short-term, I do not have plans to start a business yet but I am definitely inclined to venture into the entrepreneur space after accumulating sufficient experience in the workforce. One idea which I am particularly passionate about is building a business to educate young adults on financial literacy. Through interactive games, users can pick up personal finance skills while earning tokens that can be translated to real money. I believe that through technology, educational content can be easily consumed by the community while empowering them to make informed financial decisions in their lives.
