Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, it has always been one of my aspirations to start my own business. Since young, I enjoy observing the world and come out with innovative solutions to solve problems. After coming into university, I had the chance to be involved in technical projects and participated in various competitions. I also had an opportunity to work for a tech startup last year where I was exposed to the dynamic and highly motivated working culture. All these experiences had grown my interest in “Technoprenuership” and I would love to explore more of it through this opportunity. Joining TSM would certainly widen my perspective of what it really means to problem-solve and I also hope it will inspire me even more to start my own technological business. Thus, I believe this would be a very good opportunity for me to be further grow myself with great startup insights and wisdom, as I get to learn more about how these “initial start-ups” grows into one of the top few companies in the world today.
- Where would you like to visit virtually?
Silicon Valley, Shen Zhen, Hang Zhou, Hong Kong, London, New York. These places all have very strong business and startup culture, hence I am sure it will be very meaningful and enriching to be learning and interacting from companies based there.
Starting a Business
- What types of business interest you?
I find businesses which are customer-centric and focuses on innovative solutions to make our day-to-day lives more efficient and convenient, appeals to me a lot. Businesses such as Google, Facebook and Grab are just some examples which interests and inspires me to also help to make our society more efficient and connected.
- What plan do you have in starting a business?
Recently, I have participated in an Innovative Solution Challenge where my team and I are tasked to ideate and create a Software-as-a-Service solution. To our pleasant surprise, our idea made it to the final round! Even though, we did not emerge as the final winner of the challenge, this experience actually motivated and drove our team to continue working on this solution which we had. Currently, our plan is to continue gaining experience by doing internships in different tech firms, networking and learning from different founders and investors - all of these while we work on firming up some of the directions we have to drive this business. Our ideal timeline would be that upon graduation, we can launch this business to live environment.

What keeps me ticking?
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” - Albert Einstein. It is personally one of my favourite quotes. I believe that in a fast-paced and dynamic society we are in today, I do not want to constantly stay comfortable in my zone as there are countless opportunities out there in the world which enables us to make a difference, one step at a time.
