Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

To be able to understand different cultures and people to think of business ideas is interesting.
This will also pose me a great opportunity to experience and learn about how business ideas stem from the various cultures and from there, how are we able to globalize the idea.

  • Where would you like to visit virtually?

I would like to visit Japan virtually as Japan in a country filled with culture and interesting innovations.
I have been to Japan, Kyushu to understand their environmental efforts to preserve and keep their country clean.
On top of this experience in Japan, I am an active audience of their Television Drama/ Anime/ Manga.
I am highly impressed by how Japan is preserving culture while embracing taboos
In addition to all those, I understand that Japan has 'Rent a Boyfriend/Family' service and many more interesting things which I can explore if I were to visit the other areas of the country.
Japan is also able to preserve their culture with strong sentiments for shrines and worship places, unlike Singapore with less of the newer Generations visiting places of worship, specifically Temples.
This commendable of Japan and I would like to know why they have such strong sense of culture and traditions despite being in the 21st century.

Other than Japan, I would love to visit Korea too. After watching countless of Korean variety shows, I am highly attracted to their way of living and beautiful country.
The beauty and entertainment industry in Korea is amazing and at the rate of their expansion, it would be something interesting to look at when thinking of how to sustain or grow a business.
Especially because I missed out the opportunity to visit Korea for SEP, This would be a great opportunity for me to visit Korea virtually.

Lastly, another interesting country to visit would certainly be China. With the success of Jack Ma, China has became even more innovative and competitive.
I believe that China would be a great country to visit to understand the motivation and the need for innovation to survive in all industries.

Hence, Japan, Korea or China would certainly be countries that will interest me. Nonetheless, this doesn't mean that I am not interested to explore other countries!
I am certainly open to visit anywhere, so long as I am able to gain takeaways from the virtual trips.

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you? Technology based that will change the way we do things

I would like to start a business to introduce convenience to our daily lives.
Businesses such as Google, Samsung or XiaoMi has brought about great convenience to our daily lives.
By connecting our devices into the central hub, we can turn on various appliances with a tap on the phone screen.
On top of currently 'smart' appliances, we can use a 'smart' adapter to make appliances that are not 'smart' become 'smart'
This is the kind of business that would interest me as I appreciate the convenience brought to me.

  • What plan do you have in starting a business? (list existing business)

- To understand the market i'm targeting and their needs and preferences
- Start with a small group of people
- Use them as 'testers' to understand how to improve the product.
- Expand to cater the different needs.
- One business that interest me would be FireVisor. They are very focused on what they need to do and what they want in order to grow. FireVisor tries to make solutions a generic as possible while being able to customize in different ways to suit the needs of their customers.
- Personally, I have been selling games and other products on Carousel during Phase 1 of Circuit Breaker and I realise that it's not easy to start a business, especially in terms of management, pricing and keeping track of inventory.
