Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

As a student deeply passionate about technology and entrepreneurship, I firmly believe that the TSM program, with its unique focus on Silicon Valley and its globally-renowned tech ecosystem, is the perfect avenue to expand my horizons, gain unparalleled insights, and enhance both my academic and personal growth. TSM's structure embodies America's relentless ambition and spirit of innovation. America has always been a beacon of dreams and progress, and through TSM's meticulous preparation and methodologies, I see an opportunity to tap into the diverse opportunities it offers. This program isn't just about understanding global competencies; it's about immersing oneself in them. Silicon Valley is more than just a tech hub. It stands as a testament to mankind's unparalleled capability to innovate and revolutionize. The chance to witness first-hand the birthplace of groundbreaking technologies and startups that have shaped our world today is exhilarating. By diving deep into this dynamic ecosystem, I anticipate gaining invaluable insights into tech advancements, pioneering startups, and the entrepreneurial spirit that Silicon Valley is celebrated for. My personal experiences with startups, especially in e-commerce, have provided me with a foundational understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape. But Silicon Valley, with its vast array of tech-based solutions and unique business models, offers a broader spectrum that I'm eager to explore. From the legacy of tech giants like Google to emerging startups, TSM provides an unmatched, immersive insight into the tech business realm. The chance to interact and network with luminaries, tech behemoths, and seasoned entrepreneurs excites me most about TSM. Such experiences not only promise a richer learning experience but also the potential for mentorship opportunities, which could be invaluable as I navigate the intricate pathways of the tech industry. I am also looking forward to embarking on this journey with like-minded peers from SMU, sharing insights, and brainstorming ideas. While academic learnings offer a robust foundation, TSM, with its real-world experiences, bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Furthermore, I believe that TSM is not just about academic growth but is also a catalyst for personal and professional evolution. Engaging with diverse cohorts and understanding different cultures will undoubtedly enrich my perspective. For me, TSM is a unique blend of my passion for technology, entrepreneurial aspirations, and the desire for global perspectives. I view it as more than just a study mission but an expedition into the heart of the tech world. By immersing myself in the vibrant ecosystem of Silicon Valley, I hope to absorb its ethos and return enriched and empowered, ready to make meaningful contributions to the tech world. In conclusion, the TSM program represents an unparalleled opportunity for personal and professional growth. The chance to delve deep into the heart of the tech world, interact with industry leaders, and witness the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley is an experience I cherish. I am confident that this program will not only enrich my academic journey but also provide invaluable insights and experiences that will shape my future endeavors. I eagerly look forward to the possibility of participating in the TSM program and promise to make the most of this unique opportunity.

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

Arising from a thorough academic foundation and practical experience in software, my vision is steadily coming into focus. I'm deeply drawn to the immense potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the financial domain. In our contemporary era, machine learning and data analytics stand out as revolutionary forces, with data being more than just a tool - it's the very heart of innovation. My experience at SMU, enriched by firsthand engagements in AI research and in-depth study of AI paradigms like ChatGPT, has fortified my conviction in the symbiotic relationship between AI and finance. I anticipate a horizon where fintech, powered by AI, not only uplifts the financial industry but also extends a hand to the underrepresented, meeting specific challenges and carving out inclusive platforms. Blending my technical prowess with a fervor for financial advancement propels me on a path of transformative endeavors.

  • What plans do you have in starting a business?

Some promising directions I envision are: Smart Financial Assistants: Leveraging AI, this system offers tailored financial advice to users on matters like investments, savings, and budgeting. By analyzing individual spending habits, investment preferences, and financial objectives, it crafts optimal financial strategies. Educational Literature Analysis Tool: This tool, powered by Natural Language Processing, would analyze and interpret academic materials and literature, offering students instantaneous insights. It's designed to break down intricate academic papers, distill core insights, and suggest pertinent reading materials in alignment with a student's academic inclinations and preferences. While the journey of entrepreneurship is filled with unknowns and challenges, the potential to bring about meaningful change through these ventures invigorates me. With an unwavering spirit and a clear vision, I will continue to explore and eventually solidify my plans in starting a transformative business that melds technology, finance, and a deep-rooted desire to make a difference.
