Why TSM Korea

What motivates you to join TSM?
Like what one of my prof said, "Take advantage of the opportunities that the school is giving you!". Now that SMU has given me this opportunity to sign up for a TSM, why not?! A module that I'm currently taking - IT and Business Innovation - sparked my interest in discovering and exploring innovations. This module made me realised that there are a lot more things that are undiscovered (by me at least). Since I enjoy the module, I bet that a TSM that collaborates with SMU IIE will teach me even more stuff that I yearn to know. Furthermore, it is not an everyday chance whereby I get to interact with technology start-ups. Start-ups are interesting to explore as most of them lack the manpower, capital and knowledge. For me, I feel that start-ups are more relatable and are probably the best place to learn from. I'm also interested to see how these start-ups can transform into huge MNCs over the years by applying the best practices.

Why South Korea?
On a superficial level, it's not too far away from home and I'd like to challenge myself to see how well and fast I can adapt to the new environment with existing language and culture barrier. On a more serious note, Korea has plenty of technology related start-ups which would be more relevant to me and I'm keen to witness the country that took technology by stomp in a pretty short period of time.
