  • Organization (manage which type of min/10 companies to visit; get a good mix of IT, Fintech, Gaming/Media/Content, Social Enterprise, etc; assign teams to startups, incubators/VC, forum/media, University; keep progress/status of teams contacting companies; update organization wiki page; organise company briefing). Must be a go getter, able to knock on doors, keep pushing for progress and have lots of contact.
  • Cultural & Event (search for cultural and events happening such as Educational Sights, Cultural immersions, Local happenings, Seminars, Tech show, Conferences, Forums, Talks, Farmers Markets, Product Release, Museums, Science centres, City tours, etc; manage trip welfare and fun factor; convince class to have fun/take the plunge). Must be happy go lucky person with a sense of adventure. Try out exciting new things in a happening city. Able to search for events, happenings, fab, etc.
  • Itinerary (google map out all visit locations with min travel time, set global time slot for each visit, update wiki itinerary page, seats next to bus driver for navigation). Must be very organise with timing, constraints and logistics. Navigation and street smart. Can travel in any city, never get lost.

  • Finance (collect, pay, distribute, foreign exchange, petty cash, liaison with SMUX claims, check out grants, global wallet/wise/youTrip, etc). Must be comfortable/careful/confident with money, precise, protect, bouncer, have a money pooch or global wallet, etc.
  • Insurance (source and review supplementary insurance that is not covered in SMU insurance, organise insurance registration/payment and helps with claims if needed). Must be meticulous, able to compare different documents, some experience with insurance claims.
  • Attendance (collect class information/indemnity form/travel dates/passport/food preferences/visa/, setup telegram group, take class/trip attendance, room assignments/daily check in at night). Must be attentive, first and last out of venue, recognise classmates, know how to use telegram to collect votes, etc.
  • Travel agent liaison (communicate/negotiate with travel agent, research on flights, hotels, bus, transfer, etc). Communication with travel agent, including preparing bus itinerary. Must be a master negotiator, able to compare prices with research directly from hotels, flights, transfer charter, claim even when prices are going up, etc.
  • Interpreter (interpret speakers during trip, make lunch reservations on calls, interact with companies/VC/hosts/restaurants/venue/bus drivers/guide/etc). If you are native speaker (for foreign language only), we want you!!! Remember to add this in your application so we can accept you.

Photographer/Videographer -

  • Wiki editors (edit Roles, Teams and Reflection wiki pages, create templates for reflection and organization, make sure all links are connected and up to date, update organization wiki page after project presentation and organise/update team reflection each trip day). Must know how to use media wiki, templates, upload photos, scan broken links, etc.
  • Photographer/videographer (take class/trip photos/videos/zoom screenshots, plan visit storyboard/scripts, edit photos/videos, etc). Must have passion for photography, videography, have good phone,DSLR or goPro, know photoshop, video editors/premier/corel, experience as photographer for events. Plus if like Wes Anderson symmetry & editing.
Publicist & Designer

  • Publicist (post and update Social Media pages/Facebook/telegram channels/tiktok, write articles about our classmates/companies/visits, blogs, entice news media, slog likes, followers, etc). Must be popular, outgoing, influencer, lots of followers.
  • Designer (design wiki logo/banner/role page, come up with token/gifts for host, buy/carry banner, buy gifts and distribute, etc). Must be artistic (not the Power Point kind) and able to build an image.
