Project Overview

Project Description

Our team aims to develop a web application to replace the excel product that the Citibank investment team is currently using to view their clients’ portfolio and financial information. The web application will be of greater convenience for them in their everyday tasks. This is done through improvements in the User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) with intuitive visualisations charts and additional analytics features such as stock market predictions and additional analytics features. Summary of the goal: Create an interactive and visually pleasing web application dashboard with improved features/functionalities for investment counsellors to aid them in their daily tasks.

Motivation

The current excel product of the investment team serves its function in displaying individual clients’ portfolios and financial related information. However, it has its limitations. Firstly, excel is not scalable or maintainable in the long run due to its inability to handle and operate with massive data. Secondly, it is not an enterprise standard for larger audiences with proper controls, versioning and DevOps operations. Thirdly, Excel is not built to handle heavily extended features/plug-ins such as machine learning components. Lastly, the current interface/visuals of the excel are not ideal or optimally built for efficient information gathering and comparison.
