A,B,C classification • Development an algorithmn to sort SKUs into A,B,C classifications, based on their rate of movement (fast / slow moving).
Dashboard • Develop a dashboard using Tableau for high level visualizatiion of warehouse process.
Warehouse Utilization tool • To help employees understand fill and flow rate of the warehouse based on historical data, and also, determine pick rate of warehouse locations and identify most used and least used locations.
Application development • Develop an application for long term sustainability use. This will allow client to continue analyzing new data via a uploading feature, even if the the project is over.
13 Jan After Project Proposal Medical & Duty Free Products (Changed) Vertical lift • Determine the type and quantity of SKUs that should be placed for muti level storage, and the lift space optimization. NIL Removed Client wished to change focus too analysis on inbound and outbound data. Concerns was that number of shelves, stories and size of lift have not yet been finalized in the new warehouse.
A,B,C classification • Development an algorithm to sort SKUs into A,B,C classifications, based on their rate of movement (fast / slow moving). • Use preassigned values to sort SKUs into A,B,C classifications. Modified Client wants control over changing the A,B,C classification values as he does not want to waste time asking help from his developers to change the logic of the algorithm.
Dashboard • Develop a dashboard using Tableau for high level visualization of warehouse process. • Develop a dashboard using d3.js, SAS Enterprise Miner and JMP for high level visualization of warehouse process. Modified Client felt that Tableau was expensive and under the advice of Prof. Kam, the team suggest the use of d3.js, JMP and SAS Enterprise Miner to the client. D3.js will be used as it allows flexibility and customization of application by client. JMP and SAS Enterprise in this case, will be used to gain more in-depth analysis. These cannot be attained by Tableau.
Warehouse Utilization tool • Based on historical data, help employees understand fill and flow rate of the warehouse.
• Based on historical data, determine pick rate of warehouse locations to identify most used and least used locations.

• Inclusion of top 20 SKUs for visualization.
Modified The client's rationale of including the top 20 SKUs for visualization was because he understands that despite the classification of SKUs, there is still a high probability to have hundreds of categorical "A" SKUs. He would thus like to identify the top best performing SKUs.
Dashboard • Develop a dashboard using d3.js, SAS Enterprise Miner and JMP for high level visualizatiion of warehouse process. NIL Remain NIL

• Inclusion of top 20 SKUs for visualization.
• Inclusion of input authentication for A,B,C classification value input.

• Inclusion of search feature for SKU.
Modified Client would like the team to include some form of authentication for the input fields to ensure that employees will know the correct input format. In addtion, they have requested a search bar to allow them to quickly find out the category of a particular SKU.

Modified The client would like to have a dashboard which have specific pages, to view unique details based on their sub-categories.
Warehouse Utilization tool • Based on historical data, help employees understand fill and flow rate of the warehouse.
• Based on historical data, determine pick rate of warehouse locations to identify most used and least used locations.

Removed The client felt that it would be a better option to just integrate the dashboard with the company's database, instead of having an application that comes along with it. This is because they are worried that the maintainence of the application might pose as a problem for them once the project ends.
22 Mar After Mid-term A Medical Brand(Changed) A,B,C classification • Use preassigned values to sort SKUs into A,B,C classifications, based on their rate of movement (fast / slow moving).
