Methodology
The methodology of the project includes the following phases.
Phase 0 Discovery and Data Preparation:
- Defining scope and objectives
- Discussion with sponsor to agree on scope of project
Phase 1 Data Preparation:
- Comparing data set and population survey questions
- Removing missing value / data interpolation
- Data normalisation and transformation of numerical variables
- Dimensionality reduction (e.g. removing single value variables, principal component analysis, etc)
Phase 2 Data Exploration and Model Planning:
- Generate summary statistics and data visualisations
- Research on association analysis, ways to analyse multiple correlations, etc
- Uncovering the associations between independent variables identified (e.g. scatter plot) using JMP Pro 13/Tableau
Phase 3 Data Analysis and Model Building:
- To be further elaborated upon in Interim
Phase 4 Communication and Deliverables:
- Deliverables to Prof. Kam and National Arts Council
