Observation and Analysis

1. Characterize the group’s organizational structure and show a full picture of communications within the group and Group Composition.

Here we are applying modularity class to cluster them into different groups and then we are applying Eigen Vector centrality to find the more influencing nodes. Modularity provides the feature of clustering the nodes which helps us identify the characteristics of the groups.

The cluster is divided to 4 colours:

1. Group Red – Main source of communication is Emails. Rosalia and Kerstin Exchange the highest number of mails in the network .

Rosalia is called to a lot of meetings by Meryl Pastuch who is a highly influential person.

 

Even though Lindsy has a higher betweenness value Rosalia is involved in more important meetings which makes her one of the most important person in the network inspite of having low calls and emails.

 

2. Group Green - Involved in call , email ,meetings ,purchase. – They are the main group which can give purchase orders.

They are the most influential group in the network.Involved with most of the nodes and are the most available for purchase and meetings.

 

3. Group Blue – Communicates by call and email. The most important node of this cluster is Tobi who is responsible for connecting most of the low influencers node in the network. This makes his a contact for all weaker nodes from different clusters. He is also involved with purchase but is not involved in many meetings.

They have a node Sherell Biebel who has less betweenness centrality but is involved in meeting with highly influential nodes like Richard Fox thus making them one of the most important node in Blue Cluster.

 

4. Group Dark_green – Communicates through emails. They are the group who have minimal contact within the network and usually all their communications involve everyone within their cluster. They are also not invited to meetings thus making them least suspicious among all the nodes in the network.

Thus as far as hierarchy is concerned for the overall network it is RIchard Fox , Meryl Pastuch who are connected to most of the nodes.

But if we are going per cluster then betweenness is not the main factor for choosing the head of a cluster. It now depends on the node to which it is connected and it has to be meeting nodes .

 

Blue cluster:Head is Sherell Biebel.

Red cluster : Rosalia Larqque is the head who is communicating with nodes like Richard fox etc through meetings.

Dark Green Cluster is not very influential as they have very less communication in the network.

 

1. Group Interaction Over Time:

There are a lot of changes within the group with changing time value.

From the 3 images which we see we can find the following details:

• 2015 to 2016:
  • Node Jane Tyler and Tyler Overkamp Leaves the network.
  • Centrality measure of Glen and Meryl have reduced while for lindsey,tobi it has increased.
  • The communication pattern changes from 2015 -2016 from emails to calls.
  • The number of interactions have increased.
  • Non suspicious nodes like Madeline and Sherell have had their centrality value decreased thus making them less influential.

 

• 2016 to 2017:
  • Alex hall leaves the network which is an important node as he was in the suspicious list.
  • The centrality measure for the important and suspicious nodes like Richard Fox , Meryl Pastuch , Tob Gatlin ,Lindsey Henion,Kerstin Beleval have increased.
  • Timothy Gibson has been added to the network.

As we found there are many changes in the network which changes according to time.
