Describe up to 10 communications patterns in the data. Characterize who is communicating, with whom, when and where.
Note: Please limit your response to no more than 10 images and 1000 words.
If you have more than 10 patterns to report, please prioritize those patterns that are most likely to relate to the crime.
Observation 1
General Observations
- The highest number of communications happen in the Wet Land area.
- Top Senders locations are North Entrance, Flight of the Swingodon, Firefall, TerroSaur, Wendisaurus Chase, and Creighton Pavillion
- Likewise, similarly,Top Receivers locations are North Entrance, Flight of the Swingodon, Firefall, TerroSaur, Wendisaurus Chase, and Creighton Pavillion
- In general, higher communications tend to happen at thrill rides, entrances, and stores/eateries/
Observation 2
This shows the communciations areas with time, and specifically, with a zoom-down in the Wetland area.
- General: Throughout 3 days, comms tends to peak @12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm.
- General: On both Friday, and Saturday, there tends to be a dip in 3pm. That could be due to a time-break taken by the visitors, visitors moving out of the park, or some rides taking a break in service during that period of time.
- Wet Land: There is a peak of comms on 8th June @12pm. Zooming in, we see a comms pattern which started increasing @11.28am to 1138am, coming down before spiking @12pm.
- Entry Corridor: One also observes a spike @1205pm on Sunday, following shortly the spike at Wetland.
- Coaster Alley: In Coaster Alley where the Grinosaurus Stage is, there are peaks during 2 times per day, except for Sunday. These 2 times are 11am and 4pm respectively. This could be due to the twice daily shows happening.
- Kiddie Land: There is also a spike observed at 5pm on Saturday
- Though not shown in the image, analysis is done in Tableau (refer to Tableau Public link) The specific locations where spikes (as described above) happen are
- Wet Land:Creighton Pavillion
- Entry Corridor: West Entrance
- Coaster Alley: Grinosaurus Stage
- Kiddie Land: SabreTooth Theatre
Observation 3
- With respect to communciations with external receivers, the spike happens on Sunday @1159am, and occurs at Creighton Pavillion.
- Top senders are visitors with ID 2028377, 297330, 1296602, 678435, 1159870, and 1159870.
Observation 4
- In Question 1, one observes the top 5 senders (beside the 2 IDs (ID 839736 and ID 1278894) which showed the greatest communications) are the following IDs, 1149884, 1601276, 1217381, 1711922 and 1092525.
- These 5 IDs only communicate with external receivers, the ID 839736 and ID 1278894 only, and one observes the greatest communications happening on Sunday between 12 to 3pm.
- It is deduced that these IDs belong the park ranger/help service personnel as well, as they do not communicate with any other visitors.
- It also shows the highest concentrations of calls made at the Creighton Pavilion.
- These IDs also sent messages when they are at different parts of the park during these times.
Observation 5
- There are 211 330 records of communications on Sunday from 1125am to 1235pm, with 5529 unique IDs.
- This time is taken in consideration of the twin peaks of communications that happen as noted in the earlier observations. One focuses on indegree connections instead of centrality measures in this exploration.
- Looking at the indegree connections on Sunday during 1125am to 1235pm sees the number of directed connections made to the 3 nodes.
- One also see clusters of communications taking place, which presumably belong to specific groups. We also see the the same groups tend to in the same comms locations.
Observation 6
- In this zoom in of indegree connections on Sunday during 1125am to 1235pm for this particular group, we see that this could be a larger group made up of smaller sub-groups communicating with their sub-group team leaders from which communications is channeled to.
Observation 7
- In this zoom in of indegree connections on Sunday during 1125am to 1235pm for this particular group, it appear there is no a strict sign of a group leader.
- It appears to be more peer-to-peer, which hints of a a group of friends hanging out at the park together.
Observation 8
- On Sunday during 1125am to 1235pm, there are 1964 records of visitors check-in and which communications happens at Creighton Pavilion.
- We see that most of the visitors are not in clusters/groups apart from those in the center.
Observation 9
- When one zooms in to the groups, following the earlier obervation 8, one observes smaller clusters of groups are that at the Creighton Pavilion.
- In general, there is also no presence of a leader which communications is directed to within the group. This could be because a crisis has erupted, and every member is communicating with everyone else.
