Why TSM South Korea?
What motivates you to join TSM?
TSM is not something that is offered to me as a student often. Entrepreneurship has been my interest since I took up modules such as Entrepreneurial Management. Entrepreneurs and technology are always related as the former leverages on the latter to achieve their goals. Entrepreneurs take into account both business and technology ideas, and figure out how to sell and market those ideas. At the end of the day, I hope to be able to generalise the process to an entrepreneurial mindset of turning problems into opportunities which eventually can be applied to large companies in Singapore. Being not well exposed to the aspect of Technology Entrepreneurship, I really hope to find out more should I get selected. I would be exposed to enriching seminars as well as overseas trip which I believe would expose me to a large amount of general knowledge.
Why pick South Korea?
South Korea is one of the country that has developed rapidly for the past decades and one of the factors that have contributed to the success is the growth in entrepreneurship. South Korea has one of the most vibrant start up scenes that offer an interesting research area that I would love to be part of. I am keen in finding out more at the success story of these entrepreneurs and the factors that have contributed to their survival and achievements. Despite facing many resistance to change at the start, technology has slowly crept into the lives of many entrepreneurs, creating a more efficient and tech savvy business environment, South Korea is indeed the ideal destination for me to gain insights from about first hand experience of these inspiring entrepreneurs.

What Type of Internship Opportunities Interest You?
Business tech analysts in SMEs. I hope to be able to assist entrepreneurs in addressing complex business problems and finding solutions through effective application of available technology in order to help the businesses function more efficiently.
Any Ideal Firms In South Korea?
I have no specific firms in mind yet but I would prefer small companies such as startups.

What plan do you have in starting a business?
I would love to start a consulting business, tourism and retail business in Singapore. Just last year, I planned to start a Bird Nest online retail business with my sister but the idea was aborted due to unforeseen circumstances. Should I get elected to be part of South Korea study mission, I believe that I could apply the skills and knowledge that I would gain in pursuing that dream of mine in the near future.
Past Experiences
I am currently working in a startup travel company as a freelance tour manager. Although I am not really involved in their daily business operations, I do find out about some of the problems that they are currently facing. It is enriching to know how a small customised travel agency has grown in just a few years.
I interned at Hong Leong Finance Limited last summer as a Credit Control Intern.
