AllGoEasy - Crowd Sourcing Wheelchair Accessibility Information Team HumbleBees is formed by a group of like-minded SMU students who have a heart to give back to society, the main goal of the project is to develop an application that enables and empowers wheelchair users in Singapore to be able to travel beyond their routine destinations. Furthermore, we want to instill a greater sense of confidence among the beneficiaries to venture beyond and explore more parts of the city. The goal can be achieved by providing them information of specific wheelchair-friendly routes through an IT application. At the same time, routes that consist of challenging obstacles for wheelchair users will be made known too

TranSwap - P2P Platform Our goal is to develop an optimized matching algorithms for currency exchange bookings and web application that helps administrator to manage bookings, transactions and liquidity funds. The matching algorithms for currency exchange bookings is to allow quick and seamless international transactions involving exchange of foreign currencies to take place on TranSwap platform. This helps to reduce the relatively high costs associated with conventional bank transfers and thus providing potential savings of up to 80% for clients.

Individuals and businesses have been exchanging money via the bank system. Currently, we pay expensive fees and costs to banks and remittance agents for foreign currency exchange services. There are also hidden costs which could be significant. TranSwap is a platform which allows individuals and businesses to transfer funds to recipients in a foreign country at the mid-market rate in easy and secure way.

Vatican Cameos

OCBC Bank - Corporate Internet Banking (Android) We are creating an interactive mobile application that allows OCBC’s corporate clients to access functions such as an innovative account transactions manager, a quick and easy loan application system and a smart and intuitive FAQ help section. We aim to improve the user experience when using these services by making improvements upon the current available features to OCBC’s corporate clients. Our aim would be to create a working prototype iOS app with the new features that can then be presented to the OCBC management to get their feedback. This would allow OCBC to further decide upon how to implement these new features in their actual app for corporate customers.

Charlie Soh – StockBook: A Stock Portfolio Management Application Software Project StockBook is a stock portfolio tool which helps an investor to reduce the cumbersome process of compiling all the financial and fundamental information of his/her portfolio of stocks. StockBook provides the functions which allow an investor to compile a book of his/her portfolio of stocks, produce a list of major news of the stocks, highlight “unhealthy” stocks in the portfolio (through red flags), and create a summary portfolio list containing fundamental information of each stock. It also has a “Robot Advisor” feature which will evaluate a user's stock portfolio in terms of return, risks, portfolio concentration and diversification, and other important portfolio benchmark. The StockBook application consists of 26 functionalities, clustered into 11 different technical modules, split into 9 iterations. As a team comprising of purely technical students, we will design StockBook in such a manner that the user interface, online display, content presentation and features will not only help us but also help all novice and retail investors to be more knowledgeable investors.

Exceptions – Subscription Surprise Box Service Our project aims to build a web application that enables Exceptions to revolutionise console gaming. Gamers often do not know which games to buy, hence Exceptions will send surprise games to subscribers in boxes called Artisan. Artisan is progressively customised according to feedback from the customers. The entire process is automated apart from the packaging of the boxes, and our platform is the key tool to triggering the entire process. Our X-Factor is to reach 100 registrations with Artisan, of which 10% subscribes to the service within one month of the official launch.

Writeup Team stark aims to develop a comprehensive and interactive transaction web application for online consumer-to-consumer (C2C) marketplaces. The application will provide a unique regulatory and mediatory system with the use of our own real time chat system that will be recorded and allows “agreements” to be made between the users. On top of that, payments (via debit/credit or bank transfers) can be made through our system where we will facilitate the reimbursing and or releasing of money should a dispute arise. At the end of the process, users will rate and review each other and will be able to carry this “identity” across the internet to show the kind of user they are.

Writeup We will be creating an enabling platform to produce better coders, a friendlier culture and increased efficiency through our system. It makes finding academic help easy for Information Systems (IS) students through the use of location based services, linking other students with the specific expertise to them. Our system also has a common consultation booking portal on both the web application and the Android platform, linked to the professor’s web based portal. Data generated from these transactions provide valuable insight for the teaching staff to understand how to better structure their lessons based on the learning pace of the students, especially in foundation modules such as IS200.

Codevantage.org - Change the World With Javascript Our project focuses on the development of an open source web application platform. This platform aims to educate professionals on creating tools to automate manual repetitive tasks. Most working professionals are clueless on how to automate such repetitive tasks where the time spent could have been used to better focus their time and skills on their work, increasing their productivity.

Lessons will be designed by Educators who upload them on this platform, users will have access to these materials. After users have gained adequate depth, they will be able to apply their knowledge in mini projects. These projects come from other professionals who requests for a tool to automate a specific daily task for them.
