UkuqalaAcceptance Part 1 MidTerm Part 1 |
ESPN Star Sports, Asia's biggest sports broadcaster has teamed up with Ukuqala to build a Competition Engine for advertisers hosted on ESPN Star Sports website and mobile website. For years the process of manually creating and hosting competition forms by advertisers by ESS administrators have been long and tedious. The Competition Engine by team Ukuqala is intended to provide a tool for advertisers to create and manage their competition forms. The application will also be integrated into Social Media platforms such as FaceBook to reach out to a wider audience. Additionally, the application will track user's data and enable the analysis of user's profile and usage patterns to allow advertisers to tweak their advertisements to capture a wider audience.
The Competition Engine will contain a competition generation interface that allow advertisers to design their competition forms in compliance to ESPN's standards. The interface will host features such as the placement of pictures on different competition form templates that can be hosted on the website, creation of competition forms for the public to interact, management of the forms and preview of their forms. Competition forms will then be automatically hosted on ESPN's website and mobile website once the advertisers submit it. Additionally, the advertisements will also be integrated with ESPN's FaceBook page to build up the advertisers online presence while allowing greater user interactivity. Analytics tools will also be integrated into the system to allow the advertisers and ESS administrators to analyze and track user usage patterns. |

Inventory Management System: The current purchasing and rental process in Achievers Plus is mostly manual and repetitive. We will create an inventory management system to automate and streamline the whole process, for both the company and customers, to make purchasing and renting of graduation gowns more efficient and productive. 3D Web Design of Graduation Ring: The future direction of the company is to introduce graduation rings to Polytechnics graduates. The current process from ring designing to customers receiving the ring takes almost a month. Mobiplore would like a less intrusive method to perform data analysis of patients with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. As such, Team ElderLove will be building a social networking application that these patients, as well as their doctors and direct family members will use. Different types of data generated from the patient’s usage of the functions in the application will be collected and presented to the doctor-in-charge ready for analysis. Functions in the application are carefully thought out to enable strategic data analysis that will allude to the user’s behavior and thus, overall well-being. This application not only strives to connect socially isolated patients, but also acts as a background monitoring tool that provides information about the behavior of the patient that may otherwise be unknown. |

Q Ticket Mobile Application. The focus of our project is to create mobile queue booking application by leveraging on location based service technology which will enable the lawyers to do self-check-in while within a pre-defined radius from the building. Currently the Queue services available for Lawyers are accessed through the Kiosk at the Supreme Court. This is a problem as Lawyers have to go to the Kiosk physically to register and wait near the Kiosk to check the queue status and access the hearing lists. There is a lot of waiting time as they do not know the timing of their hearing. By having a mobile application, the waiting time is reduced as they will be better informed of the status. This would increase the lawyers’ efficiency and productivity. Supreme Court is interested to invest in applications for Mobile Platforms as the trend is moving towards mobile. |

Handshake is a real-time location-based event management tool that enhances both experiences in managing and attending an event. We have identified two users for this application – event organizers and participants. For event participants, the application’s mobile component would aggregate all available events and its corresponding details, allowing direct sign-ups. Registered participants would automatically be listed in a community circle that would allow them to contact other participants before an event. The application’s peer-to-peer recommendation feature would help improve social networking as the team will be creating its own matching algorithm to connect you to someone whom you would like to meet. During the event, the system is also able to capture your new interests in real-time and make new recommendations accordingly. |

Face recognition is nothing new in the technology landscape today. Though it is developed, application is limited and not widely used nor utilized by banking sectors. With mobile technology becoming pervasive in the recent decade, our group hopes to explore and achieve an integrated application for face recognition on mobile banking devices. We would like to test facial recognition techniques to replace password protection while at the same time, enforcing better security for mobile customers.
Our group also hope to explore the use of facial recognition to be deployed in overly crowded banking outlets to further assist Customer Relationship Manager to be able to detect and recognized VIP customers upon arrival. We hope to be able to deploy facial recognition as an alternative to queueing such that VIP can have their requested made known without having to join the long and crowded queue. It is targeted to reduce waiting time of customers and expedite banking processes for VIPs. |

The focus of our project is to implement Indoor Positioning System (IPS) for Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) by developing a mobile application. Customers of KTPH can choose to download this mobile application onto their mobile device and it will aid the customer in guiding him to the location of his medical appointment at KTPH. When the customer is in the vicinity of KTPH and if he has a medical appointment on that day itself, the mobile application will prompt to guide the customer with KTPH’s indoor map via the Access Point Wifi hosted at KTPH. By implementing this mobile application, customers of KTPH will save time when going for his medical appointment and directly be led to the venue. |
