[[Projects/2019-2020_Term_1#SMU_CTE_-_Project_Mic-Test_1-2-3|SMU CTE - Project Mic-Test 1-2-3]]

Project Mic-Test 1-2-3 is an Artificial Intelligence project focused on Natural Language Processing through processing of data such as audio recordings. This project aims to build a web application that will serve two main stakeholders: students and professors. Students will be provided with formative feedback on their presentations for self evaluation and improvement, this is supplementary to the professors’ feedback. Separately, professors will be able to use this tool when providing feedback to students for assignments submissions, further analysis, data processing, as well as many other use cases. Project Mic-Test 1-2-3 comprises of three main components:

1) Data processing and transcribing through Speech-To-Text APIs,

2) Analysis including but not limited to grammar checking, text summarisation, filler word detection, pace detection, emotion and language tone analysis, as well as other forms of analysis pertaining to presentation improvements.

3) Rendering information, insights and improvement pointers for different purposes depending on the stakeholder involved.

ShareACut is an organization that provides haircut services (i.e. in-house services and house-call services) to those who require special needs. They also provide full range of hair dressing salon with a pay-it-forward programme to sponsor haircuts for the less privileged. The company aims to giving back to the society without red tapes restrictions, compromising on our staff’s remuneration and overheads. Our project is initiated to provide convenience to employees and customers as there are many human involvements in the current booking process such as the on-going phone call bookings and manual records.

So, our project aims to build an e-commerce site which will help ShareACut to manage their current bookings, send out reminders, and manage upcoming bookings. This project will help employees and customers to manage their bookings in an organized manner and increase the efficiency of the whole process, which would in turn help ShareACut save manpower. Other than the main booking functionality, some other functions also includes browsing of services and providing estimated charges of the services. As ShareACut aims to give back to society, our functionality would also include a pay-it-forward function that allows customers to sponsor a haircut to others who is in need.

Our team's project aims to make events management customizable and transparent for both users - vendors and customers.  In the current events management industry, event companies are charging customers a higher price than all of the vendors they hired put together to make profit.  More time is taken as well since more meetings have to be set up for the middle man to convene both parties.  By building this hybrid application named "Deetz" using React Native, our team aims to help our sponsor, "Last One Standing" remove this middleman.  The application will help both customers and vendors by implementing time management modules and increases customization by allowing consumers to directly search for the exact vendors they want with the search and browsing function.  Lastly, with the payment function, it will allow the entire process of planning, budgeting and booking for events to be all done within one application.

Project R&I is an IS480 Project aimed at replacing the SMU tBank legacy Retail Internet Banking with an all new Retail Internet Banking application and introducing new functions under Wealth Management – Dual Currency, Wealth Portfolio and Stock management. These functions will be built on Vue.js framework and will make REST API calls using JSON/AJAX to the backend which is built on TIBCO software. For teaching purposes, a gamification module will also be integrated into the Retail Internet Banking application to facilitate in-class lab exercises for financial technology-related courses. It will be used to gauge the students understanding of real-world banking operations and its applications in finance.

The project’s X-factor is a proof deployment where the application will be used in the classroom to provide students with an experience of a real-world banking operations as well as exposing them to modern digital banking architecture which is typically used in banks today.

Project Layla was initiated to bring convenience to our end users. In the HVAC industry, consumers

are being charged in various price ranges. Additionally, there is a minimal amount of information that

can be found in the online platform as some of these companies are not active in the online presence.

With the integration of the applications by ASPT(Singapore) Pte Ltd, it increases the transparency of

the supply chain down to our end target market.

Building a full-scale web platform application optimized for the end user, to aid in decision making and

sourcing information on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairing services. The

functions include easy browsing in terms of categories for different specialities vendors and also

provides ratings for better decisions making. With the database owned by ASPT(Singapore) Pte Ltd,

the consumer can find contacts information based on their need.

When front-end development for a project begins, the UI designer designs a Hi-Fi prototype. He would then pass the prototype to the front-end developer. The developer then codes according to the Hi-Fi prototype received. This process is often arduous and takes a long time. Our project aims to speed up the process by auto-generating backend code when a Hi-Fi prototype is designed by UI designers.

Frontend Module - A section to convert a Hi-Fi mockup to live frontend code as well as for the users to link the different components (buttons, search bar, etc) in the mockup with the available endpoints)

• Mockup upload module (Hi-fi prototype upload)

• Interactive mockup display module

• Backend integration module

• Frontend code generator module

Backend Module - A section to manage the different endpoints that are already available internally in Accenture and also for users to create new endpoints.

• Integrate with existing company's endpoints

• Code editor module (to create new endpoints)

• FaaS deployment module

Settings Module - As we will be integrating with a lot of different APIs and systems, we need to allow the users to put in the API credentials as well as choose which integrations are being used.

• API keys management module

• Integration settings module

The employer might also miscalculate the rate of pay for overtime, thus coming up with a total salary that is less that the worker should get.
