Our Journey

June 3, 2010 - Thursday

Finally, a few of our team members met up with our client at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital together with Prof Lian Chee. The rest of the members were busy doing their internship and could not be excused for the morning. However, the 3 hours spent in the hospital meeting the client was rather informative. In just 3 short hours, we learned about the basic structure of how the hospital operates. We were also given a short tour around the newly constructed hospital.

During the evening, we met up with the rest of our teammates and briefed them on what was being discussed in the morning. After receiving the entire requirement from our client, our team started on our 1st brainstorming session. Before the session ended, our project leader split all of us into 2 teams based on our internship location and split the workload in preparation for the 1st proposal!

June 10, 2010 - Thursday

Things were on track! wehee!!! Everyone remembered the deadlines and sent their respective parts to our leader . After the proposal was compiled, we set up another meeting with our client to ensure that the proposal we have done is synchronized with their requirement. Fortunately, our proposal just needed slight changes. After ending the meeting with our client, we found a nice comfortable bench and spent another 20 mins discussing about the changes to be made.

Later in the week, we met to discuss on the prototype that we were going to build. Hope that everyone is feeling excited about the project! “Little Green Dot” Please take care of your health! It is not easy to juggle FYP and Internship but we can do it ! See you next week!

June 12, 2010 - Saturday

The proposal deadline is nearing~~ After the meeting with the client few days back, we decided to meet up again to compile and go through the proposal. Our agenda also includes finalizing the information to be put into our wiki page as well as discussing the prototype that we will be presenting to the client at the end of the month. Our client has requested for the project details to be kept confidential and so the team decided to submit a document which includes all the information that were supposed to be in wiki to our Professor and Supervisor. The team was worried if it’s alright to be submitting an extra document but nevertheless, we felt this was the best way to present our project details to the Professor and Supervisor. Our team did not give up despite facing the challenge! YAHOOOOO!! But we’ll definitely do our best come what may. Let’s hope that everything will go smoothly after submission! :DDD

In order to give our client an idea of our planned system for them, our team has decided to do up a “mini” prototype and present it to them during the meeting at the end of the month. So, the team decided on which is the main function of the system and to build that up in our prototype. Time is tight, so we only gave ourselves a week to do up the prototype and meeting again next week to test and brainstorm on other sections of the project.

June 26, 2010 - Saturday

A week has passed since the proposal submission deadline. The team has been wondering if the proposal was alright. But, we’re progressing no matter what! *determined* The team met up again to have a first trial of the prototype and to discuss our promotional materials of the system – which is so-called the other sections of the project. We came up with all sorts of ideas – from videos to puppet show to”dolling-up” of laptop to posters. Eventually we have decided to do a promotional video and the decoration of laptop plus posters. Alright, we’re all geared up now! Finally brainstormed on all sections of the project and hopefully, the presentation to the client will go smoothly. The team shall meet up once to finalize everything before presenting them to the client. GO GO LITTLE GREEN DOTS!!!

July 1, 2010 - Thursday

Had a fruitful week! We managed came up with lots of ideas for our project. All the dots had spent their week busy brainstorming new ideas to further improve our project and although the dots' energy and brain juice were all depleted, we were happy with our ideas and cannot wait to present it to our client.

We also managed to meet up with our supervisor this week. We presented to him our journey so far and he was pleased that we were on track. He also gave us some valuable suggestion on how to further improves our ideas and pointed out some of the holes that we didn't manage to see.

We added in his suggestion in our proposal and filled up the holes that we missed. The Little Green Dot is all ready to impress our client with our presentation/proposal/demo.

Time to rest and charge up our dots energy....Dots out!
