Project F1

Project Overview

The project goal is to develop an Executive Dashboard for IDS Executives, Managers, Supervisors and Principles (IDS’s Client) to have an immediate picture of the current situation and facilitates efficient decision making for different role. It involves analyzing of business processes and requirements, designing, implementing, extensive unit testing, UAT and user training.

Developing an executive dashboard with enhanced data model that is able to provide actionable information for rapid decision making. A dashboard is able to view summary information quickly, allow further investigation by drilling down the data and it combines data from disparate sources.


Characteristics of Executive Dashboard:

  • Real-time information (data must be retrieved/posted in a scalable way)
  • Data may be from different data sources/backend
  • Links up the related information (ie. events / news)
  • Provide drill downs function
  • Customization for different users


Project Scope

The F1 project has been split into different phases. Our team will kick start the project (first phase) and expected deliverables for this phase is a well-tested dashboard. We will be spending more time analyzing the current business challenges on useful and actionable information, identifying the business intelligence requirements to support the business decision, and enhance on the existing data model.

Build on Trigantic application and enable for data drill down up to detail level:

  • Trace & Track (Real-time Analytical Dashboard)
  • Strategic overview dashboard
  • Key Performance Index (KPI) Dashboard
  • Summary Report


Main Project Scope:

  • Analyze the current business challenges
  • Identifying the business intelligence requirement
  • Develop a role-based dashboard (3 Main Roles: Executive, Manager and Supervisor)
  • Develop new data model


Team Phenomena

The team comprises of 4 members as follow:

Lastly, we also thank Ms. Chan Jain Shin, Technical Support from IDS(Malaysia), for coming down to Singapore to conduct Trigantic Training for our team.
