Corsiva Lab – Gathering Planning App With the influx of online review sites, articles such as “13 Things To Do Near Jurong That Prove Singapore's West Side Is The Best Side” and “1 Day North East Café Hopping Escapade” that are everywhere. However these articles lack a “call-to-action”. Our Gather Planning App aims to reinvent the way that content creators of review sites uses to engage their target audience. This app provides a strong “call-to-action” for review sites to encourage their audience to participate in various activites. Businesses that wishes to market their venues can also use this app to plan engaging activities with their customers. This will give rise to a more quality engagement and provide a lasting image of their brand. This app also allow users to discover interesting trails to hop onto with their friends on a boring weekend. This shows how our app will blend 3 different concepts of Advertising, Social Gathering as well as Gamification to engage different stakeholders in the advertising and marketing industry. Gamification elements such as Points/Experience system, Exploration and Social Network will be used to motivate the users to visit the various checkpoints. The need for such an app is further motivated by the fact that gamification have been known to generate an increase of 100-150% in engagement level (Matthews, 2018). This is in line with the business model of our sponsor, Corsiva Labs, which focuses on digital marketing. This tool will be able to enhance the focus of Corsiva on Data driven marketing by providing a unique tool to their clients who can use the tool to enhance interactions with the customers.

Project AETHER is an IS480 Project aimed at building a blockchain powered KYC-as-a-service application for SMU tBank. The KYC (know your customer) service will generate a digital identity via an authorized “KYC Agent” eg; a 711 store, which will enable SMU tBank customer on-boarding and account creation to be carried out online rather than face-to-face with the bank staff. The blockchain powered digital identity replaces the physical presence KYC verification. The project will be built on Ethereum Blockchain Architecture. Smart Contracts will be written to perform the customer digital identity creation and verification. Two factor authentication (2FA), including Facial Recognition, will be used as a security measure for existing user verification. For teaching purposes, a gamification module will also be built to facilitate in class lab exercises for financial technology related courses. It will be used to gauge the students understanding blockchain and its applications in finance.

Ultimately, by leveraging on Scanteak’s wealth (15 years) of offline retail data, our project aims to provide Scanteak with descriptive and predictive data analytics in two primary areas – customers and stores. In doing so, we believe Scanteak will be capable of allocating the right customers with the right products at the right store. This will, in turn, improve the overall customer experience and capture maximal business value for our client. The Live Dashboard System will firstly, present our client with an overview of various business performance indicators (e.g. product sales figure, store performance index) and their correlation to different contributing factors (e.g. day of the week, age group, expected salary), and secondly, it will provide the sales executives a predictive sales model (i.e. which product to recommend to which type of customer based on identifiable traits and observations). As such, the Live Dashboard System will provide our client with useful insights which can be used to optimize their internal business process and potentially increase their revenue.

SIS Prof Qiuhong WANG - Cyber Attack and Internet Topology Visualization System Visualizing the geographic location of real-time cyber-attacks (e.g., DDOS attacks, port-scanning activities, or hijacking) is a prevailing service provided by many information security institutes and companies. Different from the existing popular visualization systems in the cybersecurity market, our project aims to an innovative visualization system integrating the cyber-attacks and the Internet topology. By mapping the ever-changing cyber-attacks to the Internet topology, the proposed system can reflect the topological location and neighborhood of a country in the Internet traffic. Thus this project is able to add substantial policy and managerial value to the existing visualization systems.

This project is to digitalize TRYBE's current Paper-Based Case Management System (CMS). With this new implementation, it will allow caseworkers to maintain, track and monitor every at-risk youth's progress online. Currently, every single youth's case is recorded down on paper manually and this takes up a lot of time, resulting in a backlog of records waiting to be transferred to each of the case files. Our project aims to resolve this issue by creating an online CMS available on both the Web and Mobile interface, allowing accessibility and convenience. In addition, we will be introducing Predictive Analytics to aid caseworkers in their decision making and have insights to the youths who are likely to relapse.

We will be utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to create a full-fledged live working cloud system to improve the efficiency of operations and increase the quality of care provided at an assisted living facility, St Bernadette in Singapore. We will design an all-in-one dashboard that provides the caregivers and medical officers with live updates of the elderly’s activities and push alerts when assistance is required. Our dashboard will be able to collect and analyse the data collected by the various monitoring tools such as motion sensors and weight sensors. The analytics system provides meaningful insights into the elderly’s health and well-being over the long term such as detection of any anomalies in the behavioural patterns of the elderly based on the past history of data collected at the fastest time possible. This is to minimise the time to response of the medical doctors and caregivers to any deteriorating condition of the elderly residents, so that the appropriate treatment can be quickly adapted to the changing conditions of the elderly residents in the assisted living home over the long term.

Hatch – Waste management service The standard residential recyclable-waste management in Singapore (Job done by rag and bone man as we all know it as) are facing a declining manpower problem. Young adults are not keen to take up such occupation due it it’s tedious and looked-down-upon job nature. However, the demand of such service will always prevail due to the dense residential and urban nature in Singapore and also planned obsolescence strategy adopted by most technology companies nowadays. A key contributor to the rising issue is the aging demographics of the workforce. Most workers operate individually in their own cluster. The use of technology is not applied in the field due to the low interest in utilizing and application of technology in their daily operations.

On The Movers

With more than 15,000 Wireless@SG hot-spots in Singapore, IMDA is to ensure user experiences are consistently positive throughout the island. This is done by first having clean and accurate data to be imported to existing visualization software for further analysis. With the cleaned data, IMDA will then be able to use various trend prediction or modelling tools to picking up usage trends to improve Wireless@SG further. Students are to expected to create a web-based platform prototype for relevant engineer to upload daily raw data that is extracted from the previous day log. Clean up will include removal of outliers, abnormality filtering, adjusting of inconsistencies, and coupled with logical/business-ruled factors such as flagging out a broken hot-spot router based on the log file. After data is cleaned up, system engineer must then be able to export the cleaned data to an SQL database that will be used for Tableau to pick up. Additionally, a customization alert system should be implemented that is set to go off when certain business rules and scenarios are triggered. Alerts to be received by email and/or mobile.
