This app will be used by the Student Development and Alumni Relations (SDAR) department in the Sports & Wellness module to assess and improve the fitness levels of NP students. The focus of this app is to encourage students to exercise frequently by walking instead of taking the campus shuttle bus. Through the use of QR codes placed at key landmarks and monitoring of steps taken, it will calculate and track fitness statistics such as BMI and calories burnt. The URA-Sponsored Mobile Cycling Application is specifically designed for use in Singapore. Users would be able to leverage on more complete and wholesome data to plan their routes and navigation. Cycling-related amenities (such as toilets, shelters, cyclist-frequented cafes) would be displayed on maps for users to plan accordingly. Cycling Events can be created in the app for users to view and join, which would also allow the organisers to monitor the locations of participants. Other features include route-sharing, notification of route-related information and tracking of cycling metrics. Using the data collected from the aforementioned features, analytics would be accessible only to URA users to track cyclist behaviours and routes. |
