Handshake is a real-time location-based event management tool that enhances both experiences in managing and attending an event. We have identified two users for this application – event organizers and participants. For event participants, the application’s mobile component would aggregate all available events and its corresponding details, allowing direct sign-ups. Registered participants would automatically be listed in a community circle that would allow them to contact other participants before an event. The application’s peer-to-peer recommendation feature would help improve social networking as the team will be creating its own matching algorithm to connect you to someone whom you would like to meet. During the event, the system is also able to capture your new interests in real-time and make new recommendations accordingly. |

Mobile helpdesk. Our project focuses on improving the business process of a customer seeking help from the help desk. Statistics have shown that it often takes a long time for customers to locate the right answers to their questions from the website, which results in them eventually calling the hotline of the help desk to seek assistance. Thus, our project aims to create a product that reduces the number of times the customer service officers need to be activated by perhaps incorporating the technologies such as an Intelligent FAQ Search Engine and use of social media tools such as Facebook to help increase customer satisfaction. |

Android based application – A.Resorts, for Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). The key feature of A.Resorts is (1) an augmented reality (AR) enabled navigation map that aims to enhance the user experience when visiting RWS. Via a mobile device’s camera, user is able to see what attractions are in front of them. Information such as the description of the attraction, navigation, walking distance/time can also be displayed. This allows guests to be better informed and make visit decisions more efficiently.
Another highlight of A.Resorts is a brand new (2) smart queuing system in Universal Studio Singapore (USS). Users are awarded points if they visit attractions with lesser crowd. The system is capable of suggesting such attractions to users and rewarding them points accordingly. These points can be used to redeem express passes to other more popular or crowded attractions. Near field communication (NFC) technology will be used to track users queuing decisions. A.Resorts hereby allows RWS to have a better crowd control, and therefore enhance the users’ experience in USS. |

Face recognition is nothing new in the technology landscape today. Though it is developed, application is limited and not widely used nor utilized by banking sectors. With mobile technology becoming pervasive in the recent decade, our group hopes to explore and achieve an integrated application for face recognition on mobile banking devices. We would like to test facial recognition techniques to replace password protection while at the same time, enforcing better security for mobile customers.
Our group also hope to explore the use of facial recognition to be deployed in overly crowded banking outlets to further assist Customer Relationship Manager to be able to detect and recognized VIP customers upon arrival. We hope to be able to deploy facial recognition as an alternative to queueing such that VIP can have their requested made known without having to join the long and crowded queue. It is targeted to reduce waiting time of customers and expedite banking processes for VIPs. |

Our project aims to create a web and mobile (android) application that will improve the collaboration within the housekeeping department. This application (TECHKeeper) provides a bird eye view of monthly schedule of housekeepers in a hospital campus. In addition, it provides flexibility to the housekeepers to swap schedules among themselves through a communication channel. TECHKeeper will use a matching algorithm to recommend housekeepers for assignments such as ad-hoc and crash program activities. Data analysis reports can be generated by using statistical data from the response time, task duration, number of cancel cases and etc. TECHKeeper will leverage on face recognition to complement the conventional login methods which reengineer the start point of the business process. |

Customers of KTPH can choose to download this mobile application onto their mobile device and it will aid the customer in guiding him to the location of his medical appointment at KTPH. When the customer is in the vicinity of KTPH and if he has a medical appointment on that day itself, the mobile application will prompt to guide the customer with KTPH’s indoor map via the Access Point Wifi hosted at KTPH. By implementing this mobile application, customers of KTPH will save time when going for his medical appointment and directly be led to the venue. |
