Project X-Factor

Xfactorchiemidterms.jpg

Our X-factor is to complete 15 user testings by the end of our final year project. By mid-terms presentation, we have completed 10 user tests. Using the information gathered through these iterative testings, we aim to gain insights for application improvements and also to identify key factors for successful integration of our application into the classroom envrionment.

Technical Complexity

Complex features Functions to be completed before final presentation
  • Streaming API implementation
  • Social relation mapping function
  • Student Verification Process
  • Implemented the streaming that was never implemented before. This implementation requires complex infrastructure to support before it can be deployed for our system
  • Social mapping function was not provided by twitter API and it has to be developed from scratch to map out the conversation relationship between users
  • Sophisticated verification process allow the smooth 1 click registration process for students to get onboard the Tweetboard application.

Quality Of Product

Testing

In total, Chi-E has conducted 10 user tests with 5 different professors in 6 unique modules.

Findings

UTfindings1.jpg

UTfindings2.jpg

Through the 10 user tests conducted, we are able to do continuous improvement to our application as well as fine tuning it to our client's requirements. We have identified that it is very important for the instructor to pre-plan the usage of Tweetboard before using it in class. This is so as to maximise the number of useful tweets contributed in class.

In our 10th user test with improvements made to our application, we are able to clearly aid our client in delivering his objectives of in class learning through Tweetboard. Using the Bloom's Taxonomy, we can identify that tweets that are contributed in class is able to match the learning outcome in each category of learning. This also helps to reassure that our application is meeting our client's requirement of integrating Tweetboard into his lectures.
