IS428 AY2019-20 T1 EC Inspector: Proposal V2
After consultations with Prof KAM, we felt that our previous scope of the proposal is too board and we were not able to find detailed data on cessation of businesses. Therefore, we revised our project topic to inspect on Executive Condominium in Singapore.

Problem & Motivation
Executive Condominium (EC) is a special type of public housing in Singapore, which is similar to private condominiums in terms of facilities and amenities. Introduced in Q2 1996, it was meant to cater to the needs of the middle income home buyers; especially young graduates and professionals who can afford more than a HDB flat but find private property to be out of their reach. For direct purchases from a developer, there is a minimum occupancy period of five years, only after which the EC can be resold or rented for whole.
It has been over 20 years since EC was first introduced. Is it still popular in real estate market in Singapore, or the need for this kind of housing has already been decreasing? How is EC distributed in Singapore? How has the price of EC been changing over the two decades? In this project, we hope to find out the real value and status change of EC in Singapore since 1996 considering economic factors such as inflation rate through our visualization.
