Singapore is known to be a good test bed for business and innovation. However, with its ability to attract more and more business and innovation, it made decisions on what business to start in Singapore more difficult.

Introduced in Q2 1996, it was meant to cater to the  needs of the middle income home buyers; especially young graduates and professionals who can  afford more than a HDB flat but find private property to be out of their reach. For direct purchases from a developer, there is a minimum occupancy period of five years, only after which the EC can be resold or rented for whole.

After consultations with Prof KAM, we felt that our previous scope of the proposal is too board as online business covers too many aspects. Therefore, we decided to narrow down to the first part our problem statement, which is to explore whether starting a online business in Singapore is getting more difficult.

Problem & Motivation

Executive Condominium (EC) is a special type of public housing in Singapore, which is similar to private condominiums in terms of facilities and amenities. Introduced in Q2 1996, it was meant to cater to the  needs of the middle income home buyers; especially young graduates and professionals who can  afford more than a HDB flat but find private property to be out of their reach. For direct purchases from a developer, there is a minimum occupancy period of five years, only after which the EC can be resold or rented for whole.
