Motivation

To better identify and protect the sensitive, threatened, or endangered species, National Park Service tries its best to offer the information on the presence and the status of species in our national parks. As it is known to all, within the current surroundings, there is a sharply steep decline in the global animal population. The reasons for endangerment of these valuable creatures vary from the loss of their habitat to capricious climate changes. As animal-lovers, our team means to visually display the widespread distribution of these lovely creatures and dig more factors which can keep the endangered animals away from the potential risks in their habitats. Meanwhile, we hope that we can contribute meagre strength to appeal more people to protect the animals through this project.

Dataset

The selected dataset “Biodiversity in National Parks” was selected from Kaggle. In terms of this dataset, it consists of two csv tables, which records park species and National park locations separately. The species table lists the information like species ID, park name, category, order, family, scientific name, to name just a few. Besides, parks record includes park code, park name, state, acres, latitude and longitude.
