Introduction

Welcome to Group 2's Visual Analytics and Applications project wiki page.

Through our project, we aim to delve deeper into the visualisation of crime data. As a topic of interest of many, visualisations of crime data are widely seen. However, many of these visualisations stop at a rather superificial level, or deal with only one or two variables related to the occurrences of crimes.

As such, our project team, consisting of Rachel, Asyikeen and Matilda, will explore the possibility of a multi-faceted approach in the visualisation of crime data through our application (our project output). The application will have interactive features that will enable users of the application to have a more user-friendly and informative experience and that can be used in their everyday lives.

Deliverables
  • An application to enhance the visualisation of crime data as laid out in our introduction
  • A poster detailing the process and methodology employed in our project
  • A report recording down our findings and the details of our final output
