Hi Debasish,

It is a great piece of work but I have following concerns:

- For question 1, did you combined four chemicals? I think maybe you should analyze the readings for each chemical.

- For question 1, maybe you can take multiple records into consideration.(high reading may due to multiple records)

- For question 2, would it be better if you include the color legend for horizon chart?

- For question 3, does fan-shape stand for influence area due to wind? Is it more clearer if they start by factories?

P.S. Interestingly we happen to have very similar content on our wiki pages. Such coincidence is surprising!

Thanks,

Jean

Hi Jean,

Thank you for your valuable comments i will surely look into this.

For question 1, I thought of analyzing the sensors first with the combined readings of all the chemicals in order to find out whether the sensors reading are showing more than average readings. Also i feel that for question 1 we should first look at the readings then may be we can look into the multiple records.

For question 2, you are correct i will surely include the color legend for the horizon chart. However the entire dash board can be accessed through the tableau public page.

For question 3, Actually the fan shape stands for the influence area due to the wind. Actually i feel that if we represent it from the sensors then we can get a clear picture of the chemical readings relative to all the sensors which can help us to find out the factory emitting the sensors.

It seems that you must be talking about the chemical and the factory description i have used in my intro part.Actually i have used the description as was given in the visual challenge competition.

Thanks & Regards

Debasish Behera

Hi Debasish,

Your color selection could be better. 3rd question analysis is good. You could add more analysis for Question 1

Hi Manish,

Thank You very much for your valuable feed back i will surely look into it.

Thanks & Regards, Debasish Behera

Hi Debasish,

Nice work! Good to use the no. of records to see not only the duplicate but also the fewer number of reading.

Here are my concerns:

  • For Q1, would it be more reasonable to use the non-aggregated reading? It seems better to see the operation of each monitor using the individual captured reading of each chemical.
  • Nice wind plot but have you taken consideration of wind speed when plotting the influenced wind area?

Best regards,

Xiaoqing

Hi Xiaoqing,

Thank you for pointing those changes i will surely incorporate them into my visualization.

Thanks & Regards, Debasish Behera

Hi Debasish,

  • Overall good answers and dashboards
  • Boxplot is a great plot to show distribution
  • Comparison for count of readings are good, however it would be better if the count distinction uses clearer colors
  • Horizon graph is informative, better to come up with the legend
  • Dashboard for Q3 is good, better consider some highlights to show details
